TMB has an exciting opportunity for a Risk Management Specialist to provide Program and Product Line Risk Management (RM) support to a Navy program office.

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide support to PMS377 Amphibious Warfare Program Office PMS377 Program Manager (PM), Deputy Program Manager (DPM), Product Line Principal Acquisition Program Managers (PAPMs) and staff members in the area of Risk Management (RM) including (but not limited to):
  • Interact frequently with Navy and civilian personnel and possess outstanding verbal communications skills.
  • Familiarity with all aspects of a Risk Management (RM) Program and associated processes.
  • Familiarity with SECNAV, DOD, MARCORSYSCOM and NAVSEA Risk Management (RM) directives including guidance related to RM addressed in DoD 5000 and be able to work closely with the PMS377 leadership and staff members to provide verbal and written RM guidance.
  • Must be able to independently research, manage, and advise upon risks for the PMS377 Product Line programs.
  • Familiarity with RM software packages such as Risk Exchange Plus (RE+) maintained as NSWC Dahlgren by the Naval Systems Engineering Resource Center (NSERC) or other similar RM Toolsets.
  • Advise PMS377 personnel and contract support team personnel on the development of Risk, Issue and Opportunity (RIO) management as an integral part of the overall program management process.
  • Possess working knowledge to support a Program in maintaining a disciplined, comprehensive RIO management program to ensure that critical program risks and opportunities are properly identified, suitably handled, and captured in RM plans.
  • Other RM duties as assigned and as requested by PMS377 leadership.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two to five years of program management acquisition experience with knowledge of RM best practices experience including at least direct experience providing support to U.S. Navy program offices.
  • Knowledge of the DOD risk management processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics Management, Business Administration or Management.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must possess an active DOD Secret security clearance.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in a backpack or messenger bag in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
  • Full COVID 19 vaccination is required for this position.
